Apropos

Here and Now are two invisible and indivisible notions that are tangible on a daily basis when one experiences an upheaval (emotional, political, ecological).

The work HIC ET NUNC, a medium lenght film essay, is composed of more than 500 trailers of dystopian/ utopian feature films found in worldwide cinema traditions. Empty of actors, the narrative frame of the film is made possible through its original soundtrack being completely recomposed in the manner of Foley sound effects. The story of the film goes through various representations of the idea of end / collapse / beginning of the world from various cultures. Humanity has been extremeley censored and is only present as a blind spot. Taking the form of a too long trailer, this film-essay announces possible futures, scenarios more or less nostalgic or dramatic, using a hint of poetic humor.

Re-appropriated films include references to Metropolis (1927) Fritz Lang; Soylent Green (1973) Richard Fleischer; Mad Max (1979) George Miller; Underworld Awakening (2012) Måns Mårlind & Björn Stein; Old Boy (2003) Chan-wook Park ; The Matrix (1999) Lana Wachowski & Lilly Wachowski; They Live (1988) John Carpenter; Weekend (1967) Jean-Luc Godard ; 28 Days Later (2002) Danny Boyle; etc.
